"Paper Studies" of each of the Go packages used in EdgeX Foundry is conducted on a periodic basis. This includes gathering stats on number of contributors, number of releases & tags, last release, last commit, number of stars, number of watchers, number of forks, license, and more (obtained from github and pkg.go.docs). This data is used to review each package and make decisions about whether a replacement is in order and/or to approve packages for use in EdgeX services.
